Street Physio Free Advice and Guidance at North Point Shopping Centre

In September Physiotherapists and Sports and Exercise Therapists from the Hull MSK Service clinical team arranged and attended a pop-up event in the middle of North Point Shopping Centre, Bransholme.

During this event the public had access to free specialist MSK Physiotherapy and Orthopaedic advice and guidance from our colleagues, backed up with evidence based information and handouts and when needed a guide to easily self-refer via phone or digitally into the MSK service. The event was widely well received from shoppers, previous service users, shopping centre staff (including Boots Pharmacy) and some interested local school children who asked what Physiotherapy was!

65 patients in total sought advice on the day with many signposted to resources and local services if needing additional access to support. The most common question raised from patients throughout the day was “how do I access the service?”. We received very positive feedback regarding the efficient user friendly digital access including easy QR code use. Patients were especially pleased that they could complete their own screening details and get either instant online advice and treatment or access face to face Physiotherapy rather than having to make contact with their own GP.
